About Norman Lindsay's Etchings

Norman Lindsay's etching skills ranks amongst the worlds masters in terms of skill and imagination. Wife his wife, Rose, as the printer he produced a total of 200 published and a further 175 unpublished etchings dating from 1897.

The maximum edition for any one etching was 55 but many failed to reach this number.

With original etchings becoming more scarce and expensive, and at the same time art enthusiasts demanding his work, in 1974 the first certified facsimiles were offered for sale. The facsimiles are produced under strict copyright conditions and all contain an embossed seal in the lower right hand corner. All materials used in the produced of both originals and facsimiles are destroyed at the end of the printing process.

All facsimiles should contain the above seal of authenticity and all works should be accompanied by a recognised Certificate of Authenticity.

New Facsimile Etchings

On Wednesday 7th May 2008 two new Norman Lindsay Facsimile Etchings are due for release.

Dance, Puppet, Dance is a perfect partner for the currently available 'Which Mask' and is being released at only $297. The original etching was produced in 1933 and the puppet appearing in the work is a caricature of Norman. The original etching was limited to only 10 copies so it is very rare and is sure to make this facsimile popular. Dance, Puppet, Dance measures 14.4 x 11.6 cm.

Charles is the second of the new releases and one we expect to sell out quickly. While we can never guarantee increases in value, based on the success of the similarly styled 'The Eighties' we would expect to this etching to do well in terms of upward revaluations.

The original Charles etching was a drypoint etching in 1926 and was in an edition of 38. It measures 26.5 x 31.8cm and is being released at $396

Special Offer ...

For all orders recieved and paid for prior to 25th April 2008 for either of these two new releases we will include free registered and insured postage (within Australia). Orders will be accepted on a first come basis and we reserve the right to refund monies if we sell out.
